Character History
Town life was good. The people loved her and made her part of their family. She was only occasionally sent away to guard the occasional caravan. On her first expedition a girl who was the daughter of the village priestess wept as she left, telling her to return safely. "YOu are my zen." she cried, "Come back Zen!" and gave her a flower. There Zen accepted the flower and her name and with the child in mind, would always return. After this the adults would tell their children that "Mother Zen" would return soon or that "Mother Zen" would come to tuck them in and things like that. This surreal mother however was there for a job. In defending a town against dangerous men, she gained the taste for blood without clearly understanding the effect of what she was doing. To kill a man was not in her knowledge but to defend the people of the village even though it meant killing was. And kill she did. And in 993, the town had its biggest attack in its history when a Thrane force came through in an attempt to establish a beachhead at the town. Although fiercely outnumbered, she managed to save the town from annhilation. However it did suffer some casualties, something that affected Zen somewhat strangely. Another malady gained from this siege was a severe dent and crack to her head.
